Historical Ticket

Last spring was the 50th running of the Coca-Cola 600. I was asked to help produce an ad that would help celebrate this fact so I found inspiration in the past. I found the original ticket from the first World 600 at Lowe’s Motor Speedway and using it as a guide redesigned the ticket so it still looked like the original but incorporated all of the current logos and dates, ect.

Holiday Illustration for Lowe’s Motor Speedway

Recently I was asked to concept a holiday illustration for a promotion they were doing. They wanted something fairly specific.. a santa in a 50’s style car type sled. For some reason I wanted to give the illustration a Norman Rockwell feel. So after laying down an initial sketch which i was happy with this ended up being the finished illustration. It was a mix of pen and ink with a little pencil shading. I then added color in photoshop and really put alot of work into the chrome of the car which was quite a challenge but i feel like i solved it fairly well for this particular illustration.

Animatics for National Highway Transportation and Safety Administration

Rude Racing Ad Campaign

This was an print and tv campaign that we did for the 2008 Bank of America 500 for Lowe’s Motor Speedway. It really stripped things down to the essence of racing. The beating and banging and fan interaction with the drivers.

All-Star Slugfest

For the 2009 All-Star Race at Lowe’s Motor Speedway we concepted and designed this wrestling poster parody to help promote the event and sell tickets. The wrestler bodies were actually illustrations that I drew based on old wrestler photos and we topped them with driver heads. We also developed a television spot around the concept. We thought it was funny at least. Woohoo!!!

HVAC Illustrations

A friend of mine asked me to put together a few illustrations to help promote saving energy by using Energy Star appliances. I wanted something clean and simple but vibrant in color. The images were illustrated as marker comps then I built them in illustrator but actually put them together in photoshop… using the illustrator built shapes as masks. So they actually came out looking like a mix of illustrator files and airbrush.
