I love doing posters. I love them even more when I get to illustrate them. This particular poster is for a musical being produced for a local theatre. It’s for a very popular brand. So the first challenge is staying within the established look and using the elements that are recognizable with the story. Obviously from the headline of this post you can see what that particular brand might be. So yes.. this one is for the ladies out there. LOL. And yes. I’m sure there will be alot of Pink when all is said and done. For now I thought I’d post the sketches I did for this particular poster. Eventually when I get the finished poster completed and have permission I’ll post the actual process behind the full poster.
The sketches for this are kind of atypical of what I normally do for sketches. I had to use alot of reference for these so i decided to do the sketches fairly tight so that the client could get a pretty accurate idea of what the poster will look like. And in doing so I had to do alot of research to pull images to make sure it comes across exactly how i wanted it. Anyway so I won’t tell you which one they chose just yet. But I was pretty happy with all three of these.
