Melancholy Goth Girl

While I’m not really able to show the actual sequential pages for the story I’m currently illustrating, this was a character piece I did to highlight one of the main characters and to give me a little more confidence in the style I’m working in. I found myself fighting with some of this but in the end sticking to the Art Nouveau style worked out for the piece in the end and I was extremely satisfied with the result. I did have a bit of a fuss over the color and end the end opted to go with toned down neutrals and then I let her hair be the showpiece.

This was pencil on Windpower Bristol with digital color.
